“We are very excited to celebrate the anniversary of our tenth event, and we plan on making it one of our most memorable yet. But this is not just a celebration of a milestone, this is a celebration of everyone who has supported our event in the past. We wouldn’t be here without them and the continued support of the community.”

FROLIC’s organizers are an urban grassroots consortium dedicated to promoting publicly-performed electronic music as an art form. The non-profit organization’s mission is to create spaces for electronic music fans to enjoy dancing in the daylight. They believe electronic music is the music that speaks in the frequency of our soul, and seek to use this music as a medium to enrich the lives of New York City's children by raising money for Arts and Music education.

Festivus presents FROLIC
EMU's Free Open-air Music Event Undergoes a Metamorphosis in Central Park, NY on July 31, 2010
New York, NY: Popular outdoor dance music event Festivus, now in its ninth year, undergoes a metamorphosis in 2010 with the launch of FROLIC. The new moniker better captures the essence of the long-running annual art and music event, held this year on July 31st on the Great Hill in Central Park. As in previous years, FROLIC is a volunteer run community-based event whose purpose is to bring people of all ages together to experience electronic music in a positive, open air setting. The leave-no-trace event is funded through donations and volunteer support, with proceeds donated to help NYC children's Art and Music educational programs
“While the Festivus concept of a ‘holiday for the rest of us’ (named after a non-denominational holiday on TV’s Seinfeld) worked for the event in its early stages, the festival’s amazing popularity and growth over the last decade have warranted a new name that better reflects FROLIC’s unique essence of playful musical celebration.”
